Peterborough to pay for fans’ clothes paint damage

PETERBOROUGH United have kindly offered to foot any drycleaning costs incurred by fans who found their clothes covered in paint while attending Saturday’s London Road clash with Ipswich.

The club received complaints after “excessive rain” caused deterioration in some paintwork in the home terracing area, causing a chalky surface film to form which caused problems with clothing upon contact. The paintwork was carried out last summer but the club apologised yesterday and vowed to cover washing costs upon receiving a receipt.
