One-match ban for St Johnstone boss Steve Lomas over Ibrox misconduct

St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas has been handed a one-match touchline ban after being reported for misconduct during his first match in charge against Rangers.

Lomas has accepted the one-match suspension from the Scottish Football Association, which he will serve on Saturday when his team face Hearts in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League at Tynecastle.

A statement on St Johnstone’s official website read: “The club was contacted by the SFA’s Judicial Panel following our game against Rangers at Ibrox on 19th November regarding a report of alleged misconduct by the new Saints manager which was brought to their attention by the police match commander.

“The club was offered the opportunity for the manager to attend a hearing or accept a one-match ban.

“Although the club is disappointed that this incident has reached the Judicial Panel, it has chosen to accept the one-match ban.”
