A Scottish junior footballer is being praised for scoring what is a contender for the 'greatest hat-trick of all time'.

Tom Hanlon of Pollok FC hit his treble in a Sectional League Cup tie against Neilston which saw his side running out 5-1 victors.

And on Saturday, Hanlon received a special mention on the Sky Sports football show where presenter Helen Chamberlain described it as “possibly the greatest ever hat-trick.

The feat was made all the more amazing by the fact that Hanlon secured his hat-trick from the right-back position.
