No new deal on table for Peter Houston at Dundee United

DUNDEE United manager Peter Houston has revealed he has not yet been offered a new contract by the club, with his deal set to expire at the end of the season.

Houston says he is waiting on chairman Stephen Thompson getting back to his agent John Colquhoun.

Houston has led United to the 2010 Scottish Cup and three top-four finishes in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League but Thompson was reportedly close to sacking the Scotland assistant manager early last season before the Tannadice men rediscovered their form.

“There is nothing on the table for me,” Houston told BBC Scotland.

“A lot of people have been asking me why I haven’t signed a new deal - because I haven’t been offered one basically.”

He added: “If it’s to be the end of May when I move on from here then I’ll look back with fond memories.

“Who knows what will happen? The chairman hasn’t gone back to John Colquhoun.

“There might be an offer put on the table for me, I don’t know.”
