Musselburgh fit and ready for Bathgate

MUSSELBURGH host Bathgate in the Super League tomorrow, a match which Olivebank boss David McGlynn describes as "another big test of our character".

Musselburgh have turned things around in this, their first season in the top tier, after problems in recent weeks and now lie fourth in the table, well clear of the relegation zone.

"Bathgate are a big, strong physical side but, to be fair, in this league every game means you must be at your best to cope. We'll have Chris Renton and Mattu King both back in contention for a place in the starting XI and otherwise we have everyone fit," McGlynn said.

Bathgate need all three points if they are to mount a challenge on the title. They dropped two points in the 2-2 draw against a Whitburn side fighting for survival on Wednesday night and will need to bounce back from that display.

In the South Division, things are hotting up. Tranent look to be coasting with Brian Johnstone taking over at the helm again and enjoying the good start Pat Glynn gave them at the beginning of the season. But Broxburn, who they play tomorrow at Bathgate's Creamery Park, have their own agenda for the title.

This season, because of ground works on their brand new stadium, they have played all their home games at other venues.

It is all the more remarkable then that they are challenging for the title. There is a seven-point gap between the teams but Broxburn have two games in hand over the leaders.
