Morecambe 2 - 4 Dundee: Dundee do it the hard way

DUNDEE came from behind to seal a hard-fought win over Morecambe, writes Euan McArthur.

Paul Hartley’s new-look side remain unbeaten following their third pre-season outing after two late goals from substitute pair Martin Boyle and Peter MacDonald saw off the Shrimps at the Globe Arena.

Morecambe, from League Two, got off to a flying start when striker Padraig Amond gave them a second-minute lead which Dundee trialist Kieron Cadogan cancelled out midway through the first-half with an unstoppable 25-yard effort from a fine cross-field pass from Iain Davidson.

Gary Harkins put the Dark Blues ahead just before half-time after he slalomed through the Morcamble defence, only for Shrimps sub Ryan Edwards to level matters in the second-half.

Boyle, however, got Dundee back in front on 71 minutes when he was released by Simon Ferry and coolly finished from ten yards.

And, with virtually the last kick off the ball, MacDonald rounded things off with a low finish.
