KENNY MILLER returned to the fray for Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday, coming on as a substitute for Steffen Iversen for the second half of the 1-1 draw with Bolton at the Reebok Stadium.
It was Miller’s first appearance for his club this season after undergoing a hernia operation, and his return is welcome news ahead of Scotland’s final Euro 2004 qualifier against Lithuania on October 11.
However, Miller was unable to get on the scoresheet and Alex Rae’s first-half goal was cancelled out by a late equaliser from Kevin Davies to deny Wolves their first Premiership win.
Elsewhere, Southampton’s unbeaten start to the season at St Mary’s Stadium was ended by a 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough.
Malcolm Christie struck his first Premiership goal of the season in the 13th minute.
Birmingham moved up to fourth in the table and are now unbeaten in their first six Premiership games after a 2-0 win over Portsmouth at St Andrews.
