Mowbray turns to ping-pong therapy

MANAGER Tony Mowbray has turned to ping-pong in a bid to save Middlesbrough’s season.

One win in the last nine matches has left Boro five points adrift of the play-off places in the Championship, but Mowbray believes he has found a way of refocusing the minds of his players and generating a new sense of togetherness.

“We’ve started a table tennis tournament in the changing room,” he said. “It’s got all the lads together in a good way, and it’s little things like that which might help us get out of this rut.”
