Match report: Morton 2 - 2 Queen of the South

Peter Weatherson came off the bench to snatch an equaliser eight minutes from time, writes Alex Dowdalls.

QUEENS took the lead after just 64 seconds when Danny Carmichael whipped over a low cross from the right, Tom Brighton touched on and Scott McLaughlin slid in at the back post. Morton levelled when David O’Brien swung over a corner from the right, which Marc Smyth rose to head against the bar and Andy Jackson pounced to bundle home the rebound. Queens regained the lead in 57 minutes in spectacular style when Stephen McKenna, from 30 yards, sent a cracking shot soaring high into the net.

‘Ton earned a share of the points in 82 minutes when Weatherson headed the ball wide to fellow substitute Archie Campbell. His cross was spilled by goalkeeper Lee Robinson and Weatherson cracked in the loose ball.
