Match report: Forfar Athletic 3 - 0 Stranraer

Forfar Athletic booked a mouthwatering home fourth-round tie with Aberdeen with a comfortable 3-0 win in the replay against Stranraer at Station Park.

With the prospect of hosting the seven-times winners of the competition in the next round, it was not entirely surprising that the opening period was tense with clear-cut chances at a premium.

A ferocious wind was also not conducive to entertaining football but the home fans eventually had something to cheer in the 67th minute when Greg Ross powered the ball home from close range.

The Forfar catering kiosks were baking their bridies for the Dons’ visit after Chris Templeman bundled home Forfar’s second in the 76th minute. As Stranraer pushed forward, Forfar took full advantage on the counter, with Graeme Gibson sweeping home their third goal in the 87th minute.
