King arrived in Scotland from South Africa shortly before the match.

He is set to deal with
several club issues during his stay, including the licensing row with Sports Direct which led to the club appealing to fans not to buy new strips.

While King admitted the ongoing row was having an impact on the Ibrox club’s finances, he promised Warburton will be granted funds to sign players before the transfer deadline at the end of this month.

“I certainly anticipate the possibility of more signings before the end of this window,” he said. “From a financial planning point of view, we have already catered for the fact that we will have to look at the position again in December and probably do some business in January as well.”

King, who issued a fresh appeal for fans not to buy replica tops at present, explained the funds for new players would come from the club’s “core investors”.
