Lockhart rescues Craigroyston at death

Craigroyston struck an injury-time equaliser to gain a well-deserved draw from the First Division’s match of the day.

Preston made the early running and Bryan Wilson set up Sean Martin but his effort was well held by keeper Stuart Addison. He was helpless moments later when Wilson’s corner was headed in by Craig Scott. Craigroyston should have equalised with their first chance but Martin Laidlaw shot over when well placed after good work by Kenny Manson.

Preston’s Fraser Henderson then set up Martin who shot over as the home side looked to start the second half in the same manner as the first then the same player again fired over after slack defensive play.

Preston almost got the second goal they needed to seal the points when Matt Costello saw his header strike the outside of the post, and go behind but Craigroyston kept pushing forward looking for a point, and were rewarded in the first minute of injury time when Darren Lockhart laid the ball into the path of Jamie Stewart, and his well struck effort beat Ross Gilpin.
