Livingston 0 - 4 Hamilton: Hamilton secure handsome win

This win was worth the wait for Hamilton supporters after they watched their side wrap up a convincing victory at Livingston.

In a match that was rearranged after the planned Friday night football experiment fell victim to the weather, Accies flourished in the sun to leapfrog their opponents.

Accies stormed three goals ahead in the first half hour and Livingston saw Jason Talbot sent off.

After just three minutes, Jon McShane shot past goalkeeper Andy McNeil from close range after meeting Martin Canning’s free-kick.

After the hosts lost Talbot to a straight red card for a two-footed lunge on Alex Neil, the visitors doubled their lead. Neil set up Danny Redmond in the box and the midfielder drilled a low left-footed shot across McNeil after 13 minutes.

McNeil was then at fault to allow Jon Routledge an easy third. The Stockport loanee’s harmless 25-yard shot should have been straightforward for McNeil but a wicked bounce caught out the former Hibs keeper.

Routledge completed the scoring in the 82nd minute with a superb long-range strike from 25 yards.
