Lambert says no to wearing a kilt

PAUL Lambert won’t be reaching for a kilt to celebrate if he guides Aston Villa to Premier League safety, despite being egged on by the media in the Midlands to do so.

Lambert is no fan of the kilt, though he remembers they spooked the Brazilians at the 1998 World Cup Finals in France.

Scotland had to wear kilts for the opening day when we played Brazil, who turned up in track suits,” he said. “I remember walking by their player, Edmundo, he looked up at me and he couldn’t believe it.”
