Keith Watson signs pre-contract deal with St Johnstone

ST JOHNSTONE have signed former Dundee United defender Keith Watson after the right-back agreed a two-year pre-contract deal.

Watson, who had a loan spell with Hibernian last season, has spent most of the current campaign at St Mirren, after joining the Buddies from Tannadice after an eight-year stint.

Watson, 26, picked up a Scottish Cup winners’ medal with Dundee United in 2010 and also played in their Cup Final defeat by St Johnstone in 2014.

Also able to operate in central defence, Watson made 29 appearances for St Mirren, scoring five goals.

Watson will team up with former Dundee United team-mate Danny Swanson at McDiarmid Park, as well as former Tannadice youth-teamer Steven Anderson.
