Hendrick scored a goal of the season contender on Saturday to put the Clarets on the way to a 3-2 win over Bournemouth at Turf Moor.
But he is yet to taste victory on the road at this level, and is hoping to break that duck at West Ham tomorrow night, with another trip to Spurs to follow on Sunday.
The Irishman said: “Just look at the results we’ve picked up at home – we’ve got to make sure we keep it that way and hopefully pick up the performances away from home.
“If we start games as brightly as we did (on Saturday) away from home, then we’ll be fine and we will start picking up points.
“I think in this league, the first goal is vital. When we’ve gone away, we’ve conceded the first goal and found it hard to come back.
“Hopefully we can start getting the first goal away from home and it will give us something to build on and give us confidence in the games.
“We can take confidence from the way we started at Stoke, and we’ve got two big games coming up this week. It’s going to be tough but we’ve got to make sure we put in performances like that and the results will look after themselves.”
At home, Burnley are a different animal altogether, with five wins, and Hendrick feels Turf Moor is a place no-one enjoys coming to: “A lot of people are talking about it and saying it’s a fortress here. When teams look at their fixtures and see they’ve got us away, they probably don’t want that. It’s a hard fixture, we work hard every game,
“It’s hard, I said when I signed I don’t know if I’d ever won here. It’s a hard place to come and we have to make sure it stays that way.
“It’s different, but the pitch is brilliant and at the end of the day that’s where the football is played. It’s not played in the dressing room. We’ve got to keep doing what we have, starting brightly and getting the first goal at home.”
Hendrick’s stunning volley against the Cherries was his third goal of the season – and in his personal top three: “I’ve had a few good strikes over the years and I’ve won goal of the season twice at Derby.
“I’ve scored a couple of good ones but that’s got to be in my top three.
“I’m sure there’ll be a lot and there’s been a lot of great goals. I’ve not seen it back yet so it could look bad on telly!”
