Inverness failed to kill off a 10-man team for the second league game running, as plucky Alloa twice came from behind to snatch their first point – and goals – of the campaign.A day of drama brought three penalties, four goals, a red card with Coll Donaldson’s spot-kick miss and Shaun Rooney’s rash foul in the box late on undoing the good work.
John Robertson said: “I’m asking our players for answers today. Am I going to have to look to the young lads who have a bit of hunger and fire?”
After ten minutes, Brad Mckay put the hosts ahead but Alloa’s threat was rewarded after 33 minutes when Iain Flannigan’s free-kick was met by defender Andy Graham and deflected in. Zdravko Karadachki was sent off after fouling Donaldson in the box and Sean Welsh fired home.
Adam Brown’s trip on home substitute Ricky Calder brought a second Caley Thistle penalty, but Donaldson hit the crossbar.
With three minutes left, Rooney’s foolish challenge on Jake Hastie set Flannigan up for the penalty equaliser.
