Hamilton Academical have confirmed 17 players have left the club with the season formally concluded, including a number of first-team stars.

Two of those to have departed are midfielder Alex Gogic and forward Mickel Miller who have been strongly linked with a move to Hibs this year.

Other key departures include Blair Alston, George Oakley, Steve Davies and Aaron McGowan who has signed for Kilmarnock.

Hibs made an offer for Miller in January with the player entering the final six months of his contract. But the bid was one of three rejected by Accies with interest from England.

The 24-year-old, who operates across the frontline, moved to Scotland in January 2018 from Carshalton Athletic, scoring 12 goals in nearly 70 appearances.

Gogic has been on Hibs radar all summer as the Cypriot looks for a new challenge.

There has been reported interest from Aberdeen and an offer from St Mirren for the 26-year-old midfielder who impressed hugely in the middle of the park for Hamilton last season.

Accies have confirmed they now have a squad of 29.

A Hamilton statement read: “We thank all of the above players very much for their time with us, some have been here since they were 9 or 10 years old and come through the youth academy, while others had only come to us this season. In every case though these players have created an impression here, amongst fellow players, staff, officials and supporters, and there are doubtless many good memories. They all go with our very best wishes.”

Meanwhile, the club have revealed a partnership with food outlet German Donner Kebab.

As part of the sponsorship fans can have a cardboard cut-out of themselves at the stadium when games are played behind closed doors.
