Have your say

Scott Brown has retired from international football after reasoning that he cannot perform to a high standard consistency if he must represent both Celtic and Scotland.

It brings to an end the career of a divisive player in the eyes of Scottish football fans. Some see him as a top class talent, a player who could easily have starred in the English top flight had he wished to travel south. Others believe he is wildly overrated, and that he didn’t do much to improve the nation’s fortunes at the international stage.

Therefore, it was no surprise reaction was somewhat mixed on social media. Here is selection of the best responses to the news.

@Bowcat77: “There is no Scott Brown.”
