Houston: Astro is OK

Dundee UNITED manager Peter Houston was happy with the artificial turf at New Broomfield after his side’s 2-0 win over Airdrie United in the third round of the League Cup.

Houston had to withdraw Scott Robertson after the midfielder felt a calf injury in the warm-up and chose not to play Keith Watson due to his history of knee injuries. However, he was not flustered about playing on the synthetic surface.

“I wasn’t concerned about the surface,” Houston said. “We trained here on Monday and I think it is one of the best astro turf surfaces in Scotland.”
