SPL Fanzone: Hibs

IT IS often claimed by clubs at the bottom end of the table that their league position is not a true reflection of how they are playing.

In Hibernian’s case, it would be true. We are much, much worse than our second-bottom place suggests. Any hopes of building on the previous week’s league victory were short-lived as a hard-working St Johnstone side left Easter Road with a well-deserved victory.

There is no case to be made for the Hibs defence, as yet again they were woeful. Thankfully, goalkeeper Mark Brown was in fine form or we would have had a real hammering.

The arrival of centre half James McPake on loan from Coventry can only strengthen what has proved to be the softest back line in the SPL. Our future is still in our own hands, but there can be no more slip-ups in the coming weeks.
