SPL Fanzone: Hibernian

SO HERE we go again, playing that oh so familiar waiting game to hear who our next manager will be. Whilst Rod Petrie may have welcomed the staunch backing he received from club owner Sir Tom farmer at last week’s agm he is surely under no illusions as to the consequences of getting another managerial appointment wrong.

The new man will have to hit the ground running unlike Colin Calderwood who, apart from a freak result against Rangers at Ibrox, gave us precious little to cheer about. The mood among Hibs fans at the moment could best be described as angry. Another sustained period of poor football could see many enter the far more dangerous state of apathy. Given the nature of his job, Petrie will never be loved by Hibs fans. However, if he and his fellow directors get the right man in place we may stop talking about him for a while.
