SPL Fanzone: Hibernian

Saturday’s home defeat to Rangers may have left us joint-bottom of the SPL but it’s not all doom and gloom for Hibs fans. The performance produced by Hibs at the weekend was a marked improvement on what we have seen so far.

It looks like Pat Fenlon has gone back to basics and, at long last, the players looked like they knew what was expected of them. Lewis Stevenson in particular had an impressive match. Our overall play wasn’t very pretty but at least we look like having a bit of structure now. We still have a long way to go but we have started the journey. The match against fellow strugglers Aberdeen this weekend is crucial to our hopes for the rest of the season. With Hibs goals being just slightly more common than pay cheques at Tynecastle lately, let’s hope the strikers have had lots of target practice this week.
