Lennon looks at South Korean winger

Celtic boss Neil Lennon could make a move for South Korean winger Kim Bo-Kyung, who currently plays for Osaka in the Japanese J League. (Record)

• Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is being linked with a move to sign Celtic midfielder Ki Sung Yeung. The £7m-rated South Korean has also attracted interest from QPR, Deportivo La Coruna and Rubin Kazan. (Sun)

• Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre has revealed he has received no offers from any English Premier League clubs yet. (Record)

Rangers newco latest

Allan McGregor is on the verge of joining Turkish side Besiktas. The Scotland goalkeeper, 30, is one of several Ibrox players who have, following advice from PFA Scotland, rejected the chance to transfer their contracts from Rangers to Charles Green’s newco. (Various)

Hibs couldn’t afford to keep Brown

Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon has expressed his sadness at the departure of Billy Brown as his assistant and insists the move was made solely on a financial basis. “Billy was fantastic when I came in,” said Fenlon. “He was a tremendous help to us last season, but it was just something we couldn’t do financially this season. I’d have loved to be able to keep him here but were not in a position to do it.” (Scotsman)

• Goalkeeper Ben Williams became Hibernian’s fourth summer signing yesterday after advice from Scotland captain Darren Fletcher helped persuade him to turn down alternative offers from English championship clubs. (Scotsman)

Skacel leaves Hearts
