Charles Green still involved, claims Murray

PAUL Murray has alleged that former chief executive Charles Green is still involved behind the scenes at Rangers.

Murray said: “We went to see a shareholder last week and he told us Charles Green had been to see him the previous day.

“You have to ask the question; if Green has sold his shares and is no longer involved with the club, why is he going to see shareholders to influence them to vote for the board?” (Mail)

‘Scottish match-fixing could happen’ says PFA leader

SCOTTISH football could be a target for potential match-fixers and it is “extremely naive” to think otherwise, according to players’ union communications boss Jack Ross.

The PFA Scotland man told the Herald: “What’s happening in England shows that the globalisation of betting markets, and the huge sums of money involved, means almost everything is fair game.

“Is there an environment in Scotland for match-fixing to happen? Of course. That’s why it’s so vital we continue to try to prevent it.” (Herald)

Arsenal, Man United send scouts for Gauld

SCOUTS from Manchester United and Arsenal will be running the rule over Dundee United wonderkid Ryan Gauld this weekend.

United take on Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup tonight, and representatives from the two teams will be in attendance.

Celtic in talks over Taylor-Sinclair

PARTICK Thistle have reportedly given Celtic permission to hold talks with full-back Aaron Taylor-Sinclair.

The 22-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, with Neil Lennon’s side keen to snap him up to a pre-contract agreement.

Cardiff City and Southampton have both been linked with the defender. (Express)

Hearts administration meeting set to take place

HEARTS’ future could become clearer today, with a creditors’ meeting scheduled for this morning to discuss a planned Company Voluntary Agreement.

The meeting will go ahead if the administrators of the club’s key creditors Ukio Bankas and UBIG give the go-ahead.

The Foundation of Hearts have drafted the Agreement, which would see them take over the club next year. (Various)

Samaras ‘Europe’s dirtiest player’

STATISTICS from UEFA have revealed that Georgios Samaras is the dirtiest player in the Champions League.

The Greek attacker has given away 23 free-kicks in five games - six more than his nearest rival.
