Horner’s loan spell extended

HIBERNIAN youngster Lewis Horner has had his loan deal with East Stirlingshire extended by a further six weeks after the 19-year-old impressed in his three outings for the Third Division strugglers.

Horner was due to play his final game of the loan spell against Annan Athletic this afternoon, but East Stirlingshire manager John Coughlin has moved swiftly to extend the loan arrangement until the middle of next month.

Coughlin praised Horner by saying: “You could see at Alloa last Saturday that he was used to playing at a higher level.

“If we can get a similar level of performance out of him in the rest of his time here then that is sure to improve us as a team.”

Shire sit bottom of the league with five points from 13 games, a point behind Peterhead.
