Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths, Manchester City defender Ryan McGivern and Jorge Claros of Honduran side Motagua, have become key parts of Pat Fenlon’s Hibs line-up this season, but are only contracted to Hibs until the end of January.

With the Easter Road side currently sitting joint second in the SPL, Fenlon is keen to continue his side’s good start to this season. In an interview with Hibernian TV, the Irishman said: “We want to try and hold onto the three of them after January - that’s the important thing as they’ve all been key to the team.

“Obviously Leigh, Ryan and Jorge are playing every week and are key to what we are trying to do.

“So we’re exploring that at the moment and we’ll try to make progress with that over the next few weeks to make sure that come January we have them for a longer period.”

Griffiths is in his second loan spell with Hibs, having spent last season with the club, and has chipped in with nine goals so far this season, whilst Honduran international Jorge Claros signed on a 12-month loan deal in January of last year. Northern Ireland defender McGivern signed a shorter four-month contract in September, and has displaced Alan Maybury as first choice left back.
