Hibs fail to get with the programme

THE biggest crowd for months at Easter Road on Monday night meant a chance for Hibs to sell many more copies than usual of their programme. That’s the programme which has just been named the best in Scotland by the Northern Programme Club.

Or at least, it would have meant a chance like that if the programme had turned up on time. Instead, after a mix-up between the publishers and the courier company, it arrived a few minutes after the game against Dunfermline had kicked off. Sellers did their best to make up for lost time by flogging copies around the ground, both during the match and afterwards, but it was still a hassle that Hibs could have done without on an otherwise successful evening.

Last night a Hibs source euphemistically said the club were “in dialogue” with the publishers regarding compensation. We will leave it to you to decide which words were employed during that dialogue.
