Handling at the double for Hibs U19s

A LATE double from striker Danny Handling gave the Hibs under-19s a deserved 3-0 victory against East of Scotland League side Edinburgh City at Meadowbank Stadium.

The game was tightly poised at 1-0 with only four minutes remaining when Handling struck with a well-hit shot after good work from substitute Max Todd. Then, in stoppage time, he ran in on goal and neatly clipped a left-foot shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Hibs had taken the lead after a superb passing move in the seventh minute which ended with Jamie Doris sending over a deep cross from the right where Phil Addison ran in to net with a magnificent side-footed strike from an acute angle.

Although Hibs did have the majority of play, City created some half chances, the best falling to Robbie Ross who stabbed the ball past the post from a good position. Paul Devlin also had two good shots saved by Paul Grant, while Hibs’ Jack Verth was unlucky to see two headers hit the woodwork.
