Danny Galbraith and Pa Kujabi out at Hibs as Liam Craig to join next season

Craig has signed a two-year pre-contract agreement with Hibs and while Fenlon would happily take him now, that would very much depend on the Perth club. With Hibs not in the position to pay a transfer fee, however, it is likely that the player will see out the remainder of his deal at  McDiarmid Park.

The news that former Manchester United youngster Galbraith and Gambian internationalist Kujabi can find new clubs will come as no great surprise to Hibs supporters, the pair having very much become peripheral figures in Fenlon’s plans this season.

Galbraith hasn’t featured for the first team for the past 12 months while Kujabi, sent off as Hibs crashed to Hearts in the Scottish Cup final last May, has played just once this season, in the Scottish Communities League Cup defeat by Second Division Queen of the South.

Fenlon disclosed 22-year-old Galbraith, who spent the second half of last season nursing an injury which ultimately required an operation, is currently training with Dunfermline although it is highly unlikely the cash-strapped First Division outfit would be able to offer him a deal at this particular time.

The Hibs manager, though, will be keen to free up wages as he continues the revamp of his squad, having spent much of the SPL winter break trawling, along with his backroom staff, for potential signings down south.

He said: “You are always looking, not necessarily for this transfer window, but maybe the end of the season as well.”

Fenlon admitted he’d like to bring in a replacement for Ivan Sproule, the Northern Ireland winger having joined SPL rivals Ross County, while the future of Honduran midfielder Jorge Claros will also influence his moves before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Hibs are locked in negotiations with Claros’s parent club Motagua, hoping to extend his loan deal as they have done with striker Leigh Griffiths and defender Ryan McGivern, but, Fenlon conceded, there will come a point when he will have to make a decision and look elsewhere as the deadline looms ever closer.

Fenlon said: “With Ivan moving on we would like to bring someone in to replace him. And we’ve got to see where we’re going with Jorge. If he goes we’ll need to replace him as well.”

Moving on Galbraith and Kujabi would allow Fenlon some flexibility, but, he admitted, doing so would be difficult given the current financial problems being felt within the game.

He said: “Danny has been training with Dunfermline and he is looking to get another club at the moment. Pa has not been in the team and hasn’t

been around the squad for a while.

“We have said to him he can find himself somewhere else. It’s difficult for Pa because he has a fantastic attitude, he’s a real good character, he trains great day in, day out, and

we’ve never had a problem with him.

“But he’s a bit like Ivan, he is at a stage of his career where he is not a young player, he needs to be playing regularly.

“Danny is a different situation. He has not been in with us for a good few months and he is looking to get himself sorted out somewhere else.”
