Hibs have turned down two offers from Hull City for striker Florian Kamberi, the Evening News understands.

The English Championship side are hoping to land the Swiss-born front man in a cut-price deal, with Rangers also considering a move for the player who spent the second half of last season on loan at Ibrox.

The player’s market value has been impacted by the Covid-19 crisis, but Hibs are keen to recoup the £150,000 they paid Grasshopper Zurich for him two years ago in addition to securing future instalments and clauses.

Kamberi and the rest of the Hibs players are due at the club’s East Main training complex this week for testing and screening ahead of the start of pre-season training next Monday.

Hibs may also be willing to listen to offers for other first team stars due to the impact of Covid-19 on club finances with consultations currently taking place with staff over wage cuts and redundancies, in addition to the wage deferrals that have been in place since the start of the shutdown in March.

Australian international Martin Boyle is already believed to be attracting interest from Huddersfield and Stoke City while goalkeeper Ofir Marciano, the current Israel number one, also has suitors and, like Boyle, is set to enter the final year of his contract.

Hibs’ financial position has also put a hold on any incoming transfers leaving Dundee United in pole position to land Dunfermline striker Kevin Nisbet while St Mirren have also offered a deal to another of Jack Ross's summer targets, former Hamilton midfielder Alex Gogic.
