Hibs-Rangers cup tie brought forward for TV

Hibs’ Petrofac Training Cup first-round clash against Rangers at Easter Road on Saturday, July 25, has been brought forward from 3.00pm to 12.30pm and will shown live on BBC ALBA, it was announced today.

The match is a re-run of the match at same stage in last year’s competition, the Ibrox club winning 2-1 in Govan after extra-time.

However, Hibs head coach Alan Stubbs has promised his side will be far better prepared this time round for what will be new Rangers boss Mark Warburton’s first match in charge of the Glasgow club.

The Cup draw, though, has forced Hearts to switch the date of their glamour friendly against English Premier League outfit Everton.

They had intended facing the Toffees at Tynecastle that afternoon but today revealed that, following discussions with Police Scotland, the two games won’t take place on the same date.

Hearts plan to confirm a new date for the visit of Robert Martinez’s side soon.
