Ex-Hibs and Rangers ace Kevin Thomson calls out 'bully' from former club

The Ibrox coach recalled a difficult period in his life when he responded to a tweet from Mark Magennis. The pair were colleagues at Coventry City where Thomson spent a short time as a teenager.

The 36-year-old has spoken previously about the torment faced at the Sky Blues and how he was treated.

Thomson was fervent in his reply to Magennis who had replied to a tweet sent by the former Hibs star regarding Michael Stewart's take on some of the incidents in the Aberdeen v Rangers game.

Magennis posted: “Remember you got the Henry at Coventry and started crying..... told your mum and dad and I was nearly sacked... lol.. lucky Richard money was in a good mood lol.”

Thomson branded him a “bullyboy” and a “b***end”.

He said: “You are a p****, and I mean a p****, one thing I’d tell you, is you’d not do it to me now that’s a fact!!!! B***end. #bullyboy thought you a big man, you’d do nowt if I got a hold of you now.”

After Coventry, Thomson went on to have huge success in the game. He joined Hibs where his performances would earn a £2million move to Rangers. At Ibrox he won five trophies, including two league titles before having two more spells at Easter Road in between moves to Middlesbrough and Dundee.

Thomson now runs his own academy and is a highly-regarded coach at Ibrox.
