Stevenson’s Scotland call

Hearts midfielder Ryan Stevenson was today called into the Scotland squad for Friday’s friendly with Cyprus in Larnaca as national coach Craig Levein combats several withdrawals.

Charlie Adam (knee), Graham Dorrans (ankle), Alan Hutton (knee), Lee Wallace (thigh), Russell Martin (ankle) and David Marshall (illness) all missed the official team flight to Cyprus today

The player’s versatility appeals to Levein, and the Hearts manager Paulo Sergio said: “He thoroughly deserves to be in the national squad.”
