SPL Fazone: Hearts

With no games last weekend, all of the focus for Hearts was on the remembrance service at Haymarket, which was well attended and appropriately sombre. The ridiculous ongoing saga with the trams has delayed the reinstatement of the clock to the area but hopefully it will be returned to its rightful place soon.

Yesterday’s news that Danny Grainger will be out for ten weeks is a huge blow, because we don’t have any real cover at left-back – the same as last season. It illustrates the gamble that was taken when Lee Wallace was sold not to recruit someone as cover.

Saturday’s game is huge for Hearts. We have to get back to winning ways but will have to be at our best to leave Tannadice with all three points. It would be nice to see John Sutton get a run-out, but I’m not holding my breath.
