Paterson out of Under-19s

Hearts striker Callum Paterson has been forced to withdraw from Scotland’s Under-19 squad after injuring his ankle against Celtic on Sunday, writes
BARRY ANDERSON.

The teenager was caught by a crunching tackle from behind by Kelvin Wilson, which went unpunished, and had to be substituted. He has now been ruled out as Scotland face Armenia, Romania and Switzerland in the European Under-19 Championship qualifiying round.

“We couldn’t stop Callum playing for Hearts on Sunday because that’s more important,” said the Scotland Under-19 coach, Ricky Sbragia. “But unfortunately he picked up an injury so we sent him back.”
