John Sutton set for Hearts start against Killie

JOHN SUTTON is in line for a recall to the Hearts starting line-up for this afternoon’s match away at Kilmarnock, with Jambos boss Gary Locke impressed by his contribution against Ross County two weeks ago.

Sutton was dropped to the subs’ bench for the 4-2 SPL success, but helped spark a fightback after coming on with his team 2-1 down. Locke was pleased by his reaction and is expected to give the Englishman the nod at Rugby Park.

That’s exactly the type of response I expected from John,” said Locke. “I wanted to try something different against Ross County and he was left on the substitutes’ bench but he was magnificent when he went on. We were 2-1 down when he came on and changed the game. He’s certainly one that’s coming into my thoughts for Kilmarnock.”

Locke is also anticipating a big performance from Ryan Stevenson. “He’s an Ayr lad so I’m pretty sure he’ll be looking to do well at Rugby Park. He’s a big player for us.

“The reason he came back to Hearts is because we know what he’s capable of. He gets goals from midfield and he’s a talented player.”
