

Peterlin, who was on the books at Everton until 2010, trained with Hearts at the end of last week and is expected to continue to do so for at least another few days. Born in California, Peterlin played with San Francisco Seals and Ventura County Fusion before joining Everton in 2009. After a year at Goodison without making a senior appearance, he joined Plymouth and later moved on to Walsall.
Hearts are looking to recruit new players following the departures of several high-profile names from last season’s squad. The club have confirmed last week that Suso Santana and Craig Beattie will not be renewing their contracts.

The onus is on McGlynn to blood some of the promising youth academy graduates at Riccarton. However, if a new signing can be sourced within the reduced budgets, then funds will be made available by the Tynecastle board.
