Don’t call Dylan McGowan the new me, pleads big brother Ryan
Ryan became one of the Tynecastle side’s star performers after barely a season and a half as a regular in the first team, but the 23-year-old is hoping fans don’t put unfair pressure on his sibling, 21, to shoot to prominence at the same rapid pace.
“I’m delighted for Dylan to be getting his chance – he’s done really well so far,” said Ryan. “I was so proud that we got the chance to play together a few times at the end of last year. I just really hope he gets the chance to develop in his own way at his own pace. Because he’s my brother, people will compare us, but I hope people don’t expect him to be the new me or anything like that. He’s still young and finding his feet, so I hope people remember that.”
