Christian Nade’s sister caught up in Paris attacks

HAMILTON Accies striker Christian Nade revealed that his sister was caught up in the horror of the Paris terrorist attacks.

At least 129 people were killed and hundreds more injured when three groups of terrorists carried out coordinated attacks at highly populated areas in the French capital.

Nade’s sister, Franzette, had been in a restaurant when one of the armed terrorist groups opened fire on the establishment next door.

The former Hearts striker was at a friend’s home when the terrifying images started showing on the television set.

Nade told the Scottish Sun: “I saw on the news what had happened and immediately contacted my family to make sure they were ok.

“It was scary as she was in a restaurant next to the one where the terrorists killed people. Franzette was sitting there and the next thing she heard people shouting and a lot of gunfire. She hid under a table and she was too scared to move even after the shooting stopped.

“She was traumatised. She was sending me messages all night because she couldn’t sleep after what happened.”

One of the groups targeted the Stade de France where France hosted Germany in an international friendly.

People inside the ground – including Partick Thistle striker Mathias Pogba, who was there to watch his brother Paul – heard explosions but were unaware of the true horror unfolding outwith the confines of the stadium.

It was later revealed a security guard had stopped one of the bombers from entering the stadium, saving many lives in the process.

“Football is about bringing joy into people’s lives,” Nade continued. “That’s why the fans came to watch France play Germany. Then you have these terrorists coming to the stadium and trying to kill them. It’s not right.

“The only good thing is that they didn’t manage to get into the stadium, because then it would have been worse.

“I went back to France on Saturday and the terrorists have spread fear. People are scared to leave their homes.”

“There are no words to describe what happened.”
