The wide-midfielder joined on a short-term deal in January after being allowed to leave by Doncaster Rovers.

Since arriving in Glasgow he’s proved to be a terrific addition, netting five goals in 16 games. One of those strikes came in the first minute of Rangers’ 4-0 Scottish Cup quarter-final victory over Dundee, a win that helped set up this Sunday’s Old Firm derby meeting at Hampden Park.

He’ll now remain with Rangers as they make their ascent into the top flight following last week’s securing of the Ladbrokes Championship title.

Speaking to Rangers TV after penning the new deal, he said: “I’m delighted to sign. When I came here the aim was to be here longer than the six months and to get the deal over the line makes me really happy.

“I had to make that impact when I came in, I only had a short amount of time and that was always the aim.

“I hadn’t played football in four months or so and it took me a while to get going and I was maybe a bit too eager to impress at first because it was such a short term contract. When you’re not playing it becomes frustrating and I have come here and had a new lease of life and starting scoring goals again – it’s just a breath of fresh air.

“I love it here, day in and day out I love coming in here and working, I love playing at Ibrox and hopefully I can get more games there. There are good times ahead for this football club and I want to be a part of that.”
