The club announced his signing on July 15 and he was introduced to the media last week but the 25-year-old has left without making an appearance.

A club statement read: “There have been some international clearance issues with the registration of Salva Chamorro and the registration submission has been cancelled with the SFA.

“It isn’t anticipated that the issues can be resolved in the short term therefore the club’s interest in the player is ended.”

Chamorro’s arrival at Hamilton had angered his former club, Spanish third-tier side Lleida Esportiu, who claimed he had one year left on his contract and had signed for Accies behind their backs.

Lleida threatened legal action but they announced on July 25 that they had reached an agreement with the player to terminate the contract.

The breakdown of the transfer leaves Accies with Christian Nade, on-loan Norwich teenager Carlton Morris and young players Eamonn Brophy and Andy Ryan vying for places up front.
