Gretna give bosses a win bonus

Vale of Leithen 1Gretna 2008 2

The Gretna 2008 lads rallied round to give manager Stuart Rome and his assistant Barry Graham a send-off in their last match in charge of the club.

A controversial Dean Rea penalty put the visitors ahead just before the break and then the fans had to wait until the dying minutes for further scores.

The Gretna midfield, still missing the injured Slattery, was bolstered by the return of David Seggie and they restricted Vale to long-range efforts. Jonny Blake side footed the ball into Vale’s net to double the scoreline but almost immediately Stephen Sproule got one back for Vale with a shot high into the right corner of Connor Grant’s goal.
