Gordon returns to Sunderland training

SCOTLAND international goalkeeper Craig Gordon has made a successful return to training at Sunderland after ten months on the sidelines.

The former Hearts keeper has been out of action since February with a knee injury but new Black Cats manager Martin O’Neill has revealed: “Craig has just come in and joined in a little bit. Monday was his first day doing that. It didn’t last long but he’s doing fine so we’re hoping in time he’ll come through.”

Gordon, 27, who has also had to battle back from breaking his wrist twice during his time at the Stadium of Light, damaged his knee against Tottenham in February and had to undergo surgery.
