The Scottish Shields are underway and it was two girls’ teams – Montrose Academy and Forfar Academy – who were the first to get through the opening ties.

In the Senior Girls’ event, Forfar drew 2-2 with St John’s High School, but managed to edge into the second round 3-2 on penalties.

St John’s High also came off second best to Montrose Academy in the Under-15 girls. The Angus side won 1-0.

There are only two events for the girls but the boys
have Under-13, Under-14, Under-15, Under-16 and a
Senior Shield.

In the senior event, Perth Grammar won an exciting match against St Andrew’s High School, Kirkcaldy. After a 1-1 draw, the city side won 7-6 on penalties.

In the Under-14s, Queen Anne High defeated Harris Academy 1-0.
