Gibraltar 0-3 Georgia: Georgia off the mark

GEORGIA claimed their first points of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with a comfortable 3-0 away win over Gibraltar in Portugal.

Goals by Nikoloz Gelashvili, Tornike Okriashvili and Jaba Kankava were enough to get the visitors’ Group D challenge up and running, while Gibraltar are still awaiting their opening point and their first goal in their maiden qualifying competition.

The Georgians struck after nine minutes when Gelashvili tucked a shot into the bottom-left corner.

The visitors doubled their lead after 19 minutes through Okriashvili, who supplied a tidy right-foot finish.

Kankava put the match to bed after 69 minutes, the Dnipro midfielder sweeping home Solomon Kvirkvelia’s defence-splitting pass.
