Gary Locke set for assistant role at Kilmarnock

Gary Locke could be set for a return to football management with Kilmarnock set to offer him the assistant manager role.

It is understood that Locke has had prelimanary talks with former Hearts team-mate and Kilmarnock manager Allan Johnston. However, nothing will be decided until the former Hearts manager returns from holiday.

Former Hearts player, Jamie Hamill, who has just joined Kilmarnock after being released by Hearts would be delighted for his former manager to join them.

He told the Daily Record: Gary did very well last season with Hearts and hopefully he can come here and join me.

“I would love to see here and I’ll maybe give him a phone in the next few days to try to get him involved.”
