Di Canio refuses to curb his touchline behaviour | Rhodes’ 28th goal caps Huddersfield comeback | Police probe as Chelsea fans accused of racism | Clark scores last-gasp winner for United States | McClaren marks return with five-goal victory

AN UNREPENTANT Paulo Di Canio insists he will not change his behaviour, despite being sent to the stands for a third time this season as his Swindon Town side scored a late goal to beat Macclesfield and keep their League Two promotion charge on track. After being shown a red card, a furious Di Canio said: “People have to understand my character. I speak with my body language, I didn’t abuse anybody. If they want to send me off every game, no problem. I will win this league anyway, because my team is a strong team.”

JORDAN Rhodes struck his 28th goal of the season as Huddersfield Town fought back from 2-0 down to secure a 3-2 win over Brentford on Saturday night. Rhodes, who produced a quality finish five minutes after the restart to give his side the points and lift Town back into the automatic promotion places, has scored 13 goals in his past seven matches. Brentford went ahead in the 21st minute through a penalty by Gary Alexander, who doubled his and his team’s tally eight minutes before Huddersfield fought back.

CLAIMS that a group of Chelsea fans were involved in racist chanting on a train back from the club’s 0-0 draw at Norwich are being investigated. British Transport Police said they had been made aware of the alleged incident after the clubs’ Barclays Premier League match on Saturday. “We were made aware of the incident on board the 1600 Norwich to London Liverpool Street Service,” a spokeswoman said. “It is alleged that some individuals were involved in racist chanting.”

MIDFIELDER Ricardo Clark scored a 97th-minute header to give the United States a 1-0 win over Venezuela in an international friendly match in Glendale, Arizona. The US, without a number of first-choice regulars who are with their clubs in Europe, dominated the match but had to wait until stoppage time for the breakthrough when Clark headed home from seven yards out after being left unmarked at a corner. “Overall I thought we had a very good performance,” said a satisfied US coach, Jurgen Klinsmann.

STEVE McClaren enjoyed a winning return to the FC Twente helm at the weekend as his side stormed to a 5-0 Eredivisie victory over RKC Waalwijk. The Englishman, who was appointed head coach of the Enschede outfit for a second time earlier this month, looked on as his team cruised past their visitors without ever really getting out of second gear. Luuk de Jong and Emir Bajrami had the hosts 2-0 up by half-time, and after the break De Jong added another from the penalty spot before Nacer Chadli and Ola John made it five.
