Pat Fenlon wants to send Martin Scott on loan

Martin Scott’s season with Hibernian appears to be at an end after the midfielder, who joined from Ross County on a three-and-a-half year deal in January 2011, was put up for loan by manager Pat Fenlon.

Meanwhile, Ian Murray, James McPake and Danny Galbraith are poised for imminent returns to aid Hibernian’s battle to avoid relegation from the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Club captain Murray has been absent since January following hip surgery, stand-in skipper McPake missed the loss to Dundee United with a back problem and winger Galbraith has been out in recent weeks due to a groin problem. It is possible the trio could be in contention for Sunday’s trip to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown is optimistic Fraser Fyvie, Isaac Osbourne, Stephen Hughes and Russell Anderson will be fit for the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final with Hibs next month. Fyvie suffered an ankle injury in the quarter-final win at Motherwell, while his fellow midfielders Osbourne and Hughes have been absent of late and defender Anderson is still to play since re-signing for the Dons. Brown told RedTV: “I have spoken to Fraser and Isaac and it looks like they might make the friendly game next week at Peterhead. If that is the case then that is good. Then we play Dundee United on the Saturday. If they are fit enough to play at Peterhead then they come into contention for the semi-final.”

Scottish referees get nod for Euros

Scotland will have a team at the Euro 2012 finals after Uefa announced its list of officials for this summer’s tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

Craig Thomson had already received confirmation of his place among the continent’s top 12 referees and he will be joined by assistant referees Alasdair Ross and Derek Rose, with Willie Collum and Euan Norris as additional assistant referees. Graham Chambers completes the line-up as standby.

East and West giants clash in Junior semis

Yesterday’s draw for the semi-finals of the Emirates Junior Cup threw up an exciting East v West clash as Bonnyrigg Rose were paired with cup holders Auchinleck Talbot. The Midlothian side will host their Ayrshire opponents at New Dundas Park on Sunday, 15 April, with the return leg on Saturday, 21 April. The same dates apply to the other semi-final, with Shotts Bon Accord at home to Largs Thistle in the first leg.
