Flurry of red card appeals

THE Scottish Football Association will hear appeals against three top-flight red cards on Thursday.

Aberdeen, Inverness and Dunfermline have all submitted appeals against the red cards received during the weekend SPL action.

All three cases will be heard by the SFA’s fast-track tribunal, along with Dundee’s claim of wrongful dismissal over Rab Douglas’ sending-off against Partick Thistle in the First Division. Aberdeen striker Rory Fallon was shown a straight red card for violent conduct after catching Rangers defender Dorin Goian with his arm in an aerial challenge.

Dunfermline midfielder Gary Mason was sent off for serious foul play following a tackle on Johnny Russell of Dundee United.

Chris Hogg was red-carded after referee Crawford Allan deemed the Inverness defender had denied Motherwell striker Jamie Murphy an obvious goalscoring opportunity.
